Then Bring None At All pt. 1

He has been used for millenia as a story to scare children, to keep them in line and out of trouble. I couldn't tell you when the story first came to be, but I imagine that the storyteller never intended for it to come true. It seems a recurring theme that humans underestimate the power of their thoughts. There are entire planes of existence where things exist merely as thought, but I doubt that your minds can comprehend how such a thing could be. God forbid you're ever forced to go there, but if you are then you'll see. Only then could you understand. I've been to those planes far more times than I ever wanted to. Once was far, far more than enough.

Regardless of who told his story first, it was our belief in Him that drew him from the formless void from which such things as him originate. It was only the children, at first, but their minds are powerful and they were more than enough to call Him forth. They were, of course, the first to see Him; they called out to their parents when they saw that terrifying form in the darkness, but their parents couldn't see Him. Not at first. It wasn't until the children began to disappear that the adults started to believe, and with their belief they gave Him the power He needed to appear to them, as well. Of course, He, or something like Him, would have turned up eventually, anyway; the role was always there to fill. Everything that exists is filling a predestined role. I have a role of my own.
